Gunther 'The Tongue' is home!

What would we do without our blogger friends? We could feel the love from everyone here in our corner of the world. Thanks you guys!

Funny how a few hours can feel like a lifetime. Especially when a personality as big as Gunther's isn't occupying it's usual space in the house.

I know Gunther has to be home soon, it's almost lunch time for cryin' out loud.

Dr. Stephens called with the best four words. "Well, there's good news".  Big sigh of relief! Any concerns about Laryngeal Paralysis are gone. His windpipe and trachea look great. He has  a bit of an Elongated Soft Pallet, but not enough for Dr. Stephens to go in and do surgery just yet.

What he did find was that Gunther has been suffering from tonsillitis. I would have never thought of asking to have his tonsils checked. Dr. Stephens said they were swollen and most likely adding to his breathing issues right now. He's on antibiotics which should clear up his tonsillitis pretty quick.

Dr. Stephens added that Gunther man did get many comments from the staff about his look-a-like!

Dr. Stephens and the techs said Gunther could reach up and lick his forehead if he wanted to. Which makes me wonder, why doesn't he clean out  his own eye boogies?

SO great to hear! Phew!! Never heard of a doggie with tonsillitis! I bet Gunther is a real good snorer too...
I'm sure the ladies were all very relieved to have you home safe!
Now what are we gonna do about that tongue of yours???

Oh thank Dawgness. I was soooo worried. I'm glad that it was nothing more serious than that. Which is bad enough.
I know Twinkie has been worried about her big guy. She will now doubt be wanting to come and serve him pupsicles and stuff... while sporting her skimpy Nursie Nancy outfit.
I am sure that Stella and Betty will be taking good care also.

You knucklehead!!! You make me check your blog 50 million times a day and you have tonsillitis?! Good thing your Stella is nursing you because I'm too upset for words and licks right now.
Okay, I took a breath and I'm back. Sorry, I get mad when I'm worried. I'm so so so glad you're just fine, my good furiend. I even named my post after you today, but that's a long story and Frankie Furter is mainly to blame. I'm so glad you're okay that I'm blabbering :)

Tonsils! That is pretty random! Glad that is all that it is though!

I bet you could clean your own eye boogies with that tongue! At least Stella is taking care of that for you while you recover from that tube experience!

Phew! I am so relieved that things went well with the vet! Like Is said, I heard me mom say that she had 2 pugs with an elongated palette. SO, we know all about that. Oh, Gunther, you are so brave, and me hopes that you feel better soon. Take some deep breaths (as best you can through that snub-nose), and think about the dog park after the meds! Yay!!!!!

Yeah Gunther.........whew, what a relief! So happy for you and your Mom. Not sure how old she is, but these health issues with pugs can add a gray hair to even youngins age.

I have not heard of a pug having a big bean back there, but with pugs we all learn to expect the unexpected. Big ((((HUGS)))) of relief!

Why clean his own eye boogies when he has you to do it for him. I am sure that is much more rewarding than doing it himself.

Glad the big guy got good news. Tonsillitus, huh. Momma had that, but they just sliced out the buggers. Hope the antibiotics get you back on track.

Hi Shannon! So glad to hear that Gunther is back from the vet and is healthy. I didn't know I even had tonsils but I bet there's lots of things I don't know I have.

Stella is such a good sister taking care of Gunther. How is it that Gunther doesn't wake up with all the cleaning Stella's doing on his face? That video really cracked me up!

Great news, Gunther! I can't believe that I never noticed before how much you look like ol' Gene Simmons there. I must say though, that you are aging much better than he is! Love the video of you getting your eyes cleaned, that happens around my house a lot and always reminds me that my furbabies are really animals!

tonsilitis, who knew?!! i would never have considered that to be a problem. i am so glad it is just a simple round of meds to help him. and why would he clean his own eye boogies when he has the lovely stella to do it for him? what a sweet video.
