After eating the bee to get extra attention, Gunther was at the vet 2 times with momma yesterday. The swelling under and around his eye just wasn't getting better and in some areas it was getting worse.
This is no way to get attention Gunther!
I'm sick of these interlopers gettin' all the attention. I think I'll nibble on this bee and watch momma freak out... he he he.
Of course Gunther didn't think that was enough worrying on momma's part, so he waited until 'after hours' and scratched near his eye.
Holy puss party Bat Man! The amount of ooze coming out of Gunther's swollen area around his eye was nasty !
Momma had this look.
Gunther sure is vying for Momma time because he earned himself a trip back to the vet. That makes 3 times in one day! That must be a record.
Well, Gunther must have known what he was doing because the doc said by scratching himself, he allowed all the ooze to drain out. Gunther got some antibiotic eye ointment and a pain killer so momma could sit with him with a warm compress on his eye.
Momma was worried how Gunther would look this morning, but we were all happy to see that Gunther's swelling has gone down significantly. Momma gave Gunther his 427 pills and then sat with him with a warm compress.
Now he's out cold resting comfortably after getting his pain pill.
The moral of the story furriends, NEVER eat bees to get extra attention from momma.
Love,
Stella

Hi Stella! You are such a sweetie for letting everypug and frenchie in house hog all the spotlight. Tell Gunther that your momma is going crazy with all the bee stings.
Your poor momma is taking such good care of you guys. My mom is doing the same for me but hopefully we won't have to open up Stubby-Roo General Hospital because I'm sure to be better real soon.
Pug hugs and kisses to all!
Stubby xoxo
Oh Gunther, bless your heart!
I was just reading your post from yesterday about all of the sick and ailing smushies, and now this?! You poor thing!
Momma is mumbling something about how ER vets charge sooo much $$$ and she is sending hugs to your pawrents. Whatever, momma.
Rest up sweet boy, and hugs to all of your sick siblings too!!
Your vet must LOVE you guys!
So happy Gunther is feeling better, poor baby! ;)
OMD OMD OMD that is just awful. I am glad you are better now though, Gunther.
Gunther, there are a whole lot better ways to gets your momma's attention than eating a bee and having to go to the V.E.T. That's just sorta wacky, if you ask me. (The pus was cool, though.)
I'm glad you're starting to feels better. Stay away from bees!
Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
Poor Gunther!!! No More Eating Stuff!!! Your poor momma has got enough lovin's to go around!! I'm sure you can find other ways to get some attention!! Glad that you are feeling better today!!! Hope everyone at Smushie Face General is getting better!!!
~hugs~

I hope the vet was able to prescribe Smush-Face Momma something relaxing!
Sir Humphries sez "Yo just bark a lot next time, dude, to keep the people on der toes. Skip da bees."
Princess Bella is wondering if perhaps Gunther is just trying to remind his Momma that she needs to take his measurements for a nice hand-sewn tux. (Princess Bella sez Gunther is dreamy, swollen face or not!)
Hugs to the pugs, Frenchies, and Momma with nerves of steel!
Rebecca, Sir Humphries and Bella Bean
Oh my word Gunther!! Although your planned work, it may be safer to keep following her around or nudging her with your head. Rest well. (we see you are) BOL

That last picture of Gunther made our mommy laugh out loud. Hope the vet gave momma pain medicine too!
Bobo and Meja
Oh poor Gunther, he looks so sad with his big puffy eye.
Brigitte says next time he needs some Mommy time, she had an excellent method. Alls you have to do is go to my Mondays post and there is a video tutorial.
Stella, since you are being such a doll, maybe you could pull up the page for Gunther. I am sure your Momma will be too exhausted after finishing her med pass and doing all her treatments.
Feel better soon everybody!
oh shannon!
gunther is very creative in his ways of getting time with you. :)
i am sending you all huge hugs and i am so glad his eye area is looking so much better today!
we love you!

Oh no! There are far easier ways of getting your Mom's attention. Like dig up her plants, throw up in her slippers, or chew the handbrake in her car - all these things do not require visits to the dreaded V-E-T! You could be a new version of that old nursery rhyme - 'there once was an older pug that swallowed a Bee - oh wee oh wee did he swallow a Bee? ... (We need to work on the rhyming part, sorry)
Hope your face returns to normal proportions soon,
Licks

Stella thanks for the update...keep your two good eyes on Gunther, that boy is trying to hard for Momma attention. Just let him know we all are paying lots of attention to him and we hope he keeps getting better!

Oh dear, Gunther. Rest up and feel better! And don't go scaring your mamma anymore!
oh for goodness sakes, kids!!! that's a whole lot of sickies. stella, i am glad you are able to maintain your composure in the midst of all this drama. and gunther, buddy, bees are not good for you! they have minimal nutritional value and that stinger is just nasty!
the hubby got stung by a bee on his upper lip long ago. it was quite sad and humorous all at the same tme. ;o)
take care kids!
hugs,
puglette
:o)
Those Frenchies are so beautiful!
Are you NUTS!! What a handful! If you weren't crazy before, I'm sure you will be now.
I'm getting a new little girl here, maybe this week or next.
Smooch those adorable doggies for me.
My mommy and daddy had a boxer before me and she used to eat bees all the time... Mommy would come home from work and have to remove stingers from her lips.... Crazy girl! Mom used to have a heart attack every time!!!!
Love,
Lola
I hope Gunther is better by now. You guys are really over-doing the invalid thing. Please be better now. One thing I'm wondering about. I see that Stella is fine. What's Betty been up to while all this has been going on? Did I miss something? It's not like her to miss out on the drama.
wags, Lola
Gunther, Gunther, Gunther....No more eating bees!! Get some rest buddy - we hope you feel better soon!!
Pugs & Kisses,
Yoda & Brutus
holy cats! i go away for a few days, and i come back to find out that the fosters are sick, and gunther is super puffy! i hope the frenchie fosters are feeling better on their meddies, and i sure am sorry gunther's bee snack didn't go over very well. 3 visits to the vet in one day is just no funsies. i hope he's better soon with all those meddies and warm compresses. poor gunther!
*woof*
the booker man
Let's be honest. Only pug aficionados could tell that his little round face was swelled up. I mean, you guys are totally made of roundness. Kind of like snowman persons.
So I am glad that you are recovered and that you promise never to eat a bee again.
Slobbers,
Mango
SHeesh! I hope you are getting a frequent flyer discount at the Vet ER!!!
Gunther, feel better dud and stay away from the bees! They are NOT close to beers, OK??
I've really missed reading your blog while I was away for awhile. Your new fosters are so cute - I hope they're both back to 100% well in no time.
As for Gunther, he did go to extremes to get some extra attention - wow! Poor guy must have been really lonely. I hope he's feeling better now!
Three separate trips in one day?!? That must be some sort of intergalactic record, Gunther! I'm starting to think my Stella is the only one there who knows how to stay out of trouble!

Oh Gunther!

Dear Gunther
You must realize that you do not need to eat bees to get your mamas attention.
Your mama gets so worried about you and hurrys you to the dr, so you can get better- but you must know your the king of your house, no need to eat bees and get sick.
So,,, please don't do that anymore
love
tweedles
OMG...Gunther, how could you worry your family like that!! I've only seen one other dog eat a bee & it was a boxer that ate bee after bee. I'd never seen a dog do that before nor do I ever want to see it again. I am so glad you're okay now sweet boy. Don't be worrying your mom again...I'm sure it was a look of terror on her face! Sending you all hugs & kisses!
xoxoxoxo Diane
Your vet must drive a nice car with all of your visits! Puggilac maybe?
Gunther is pulling out all of the stops. Poor guy, he is probably having biters remorse at this point.
Sighs (Kitty) and Snorts (Coco)
Gunther that is no way to get attention unless you like going to the vet, but who likes that?
Hope you eye is all better soon!
woof - Tucker
You poor baby!!
I am glad your baby is better! how scary!
Now you tell me! I've already done that. If you consider my size...it wasn't pretty.
Dearest Gunther, I'm so sorry they're complaining about taking you to the vet only three times in one day. I'll lick it and make it better.
