Today we set out on a road trip to the California Valley in search of wild flowers. We weren't quite sure why we had to drive 2 hours just to look at flowers. Maybe it's because Betty ate all of mom's flowers out of the yard. Who knows.
Betty, we're never going to get back home if you keep that up! You're supposed to stick out your thumb to hitch a ride, not your tongue!
Along the way, we happened upon an old barn with a bright yellow door. Against our advice, mom thought it would be fun to stop and explore. Inside was an old, beat-up Airstream with what looked like the original owner's belongings in it. There were even old dusty clothes hanging in the closet. Mom got a little spooked that she was gonna find a skeleton or something.
Instead, she found Flat Puglet... BOL! We thought it would be neat to take Flat Puglet with us on our wild flower adventure.
After exploring the abandoned barn, we finally made it to the land of the wild flowers. We don't think Betty has ever seen so many flowers cause she couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear.
It was quite beautiful. So many flowers, so little time for Betty to eat them all...
Nom nom nom
We convinced Betty to stop grazing for one decent picture,
but it didn't last long.
I wonder if people will think we're related. Oh my Pug I hope not!
Sorry Flat Puglet, we really tried to get a group shot,
What the Pug is she doing now?
It just wasn't in the cards.
YEEEEE HAWWW! All I need is a strong gust of wind and I can use my ears and lips for lift off!
I have only one thing left to say about today...
If you get an opportunity to view the wildflowers, take it.
They're simply craptastic.
Feels kinda funny to poop with a flower tickling my butt.

okay, this adventure is the most marvelous combination of adorable, original, free-spirited, oddball and bizarre. Like David Lynch and martha stewart got together to plan a road trip. cute dogs, lovely flowers, haunted airstreams and the eerie group shot. (sort of group shot) i love this road trip!
What a great road trip. The wildflowers look so pretty - can't wait for the flowers to start popping up around here :)
Such great pictures!

So, did Betty take off? How far did she get?
And if she was smiling from "ear to ear", that's gotta be one ginormous smile.
Love this post!

What a fabulous adventure.Plus you found flat puglet on the way!! The more I get to know that Betty, the better I like her. She's really special. You know, every time someone asks Mom or Dad my name they always ask.." Where's Fred? "or "Where's Betty?" Is this the Betty they are talking about? If so, now I understand why they are always looking for her. Now, for this Fred. Do you know him?
Golly, that sure looked like fun. As far as Betty, I totally understand - we Frenchies have a taste for all sort of odd things. I keep getting in trouble for trying to eat the crocuses and daffodils that are coming up. If you are goning to eat them, they're just gonna wilt a die in a few weeks... what a waste!!
That barn & airstream were kinda freaky....
We are hopefully going to have a flat puglet here soon too! She looked so cute in the wildflowers. Flat Brutus would have probably gotten lost in them!

Brutus the Frenchie
OMG how cute. You "fertilized" the flowers! Looks like you had a great road trip!
I liked all that smilin' that Betty was doing! I like to munch on flowers and grass, too. Dad always says, nothin' like a little salad to help the digestion. Whatever that means.
Did you adopt Flat Puglet? He looked kinda lonely all by himself in that barn place.

You guys are so cute, and I have to say - I LOVE your header picture!
Oh, Gunther, Gunther, Gunther...what a sexy last shot. I bet you didn't post it. If I saw the three of you needing a ride, I'd pull right over. I can't imagine picking up a better pack. I love you guys and you look adorable. Cute stunt with the abandoned barn too.
About your comments on crazy golf cart lady: we welcome your mom and her boot and your bites. That's what furiends are for, right?

Hi Stella, Gunther & Betty! Do you think your parents will adopt me? You get to do so many cool things like run through wild flower patches and I'm stuck at home all day sleeping. Life is so unfair!
I can't believe Gunther pooped in the flowers. I guess he's just trying to keep it green!

I'm so jealous!!!
What a wonderful time. I would like to go out on an excursion with all of you! Your mom makes me laugh a lot & so do you three! I'm sure glad I found you. xo Diane
That was a big adventure to go in that scary barn. I bet your mom would have been chicken without you to protect her.
