It's all under control

Since mom works at home, she's kinda the Mrs. Kravitz of the neighborhood. Mostly she calls the Coast Guard if some poor sap can't get back to the dock in their kayak or rounds up the neighbors dogs that sneak out of their yard. Boring stuff.

But yesterday, while sitting at the command center she couldn't help but notice our neighbors tree was being blown onto the power lines. (We're having some nasty weather here) It was hard not to notice since the lines were arching and sparking all over the place. The scary thing is it wouldn't stop arching and we were all getting really spooked! So she asked me what we should do and of course I said, call for helps mom!!

Don't worry mom, you go back to work and I'll keep an eye on things.

I was busy! But mom didn't seem to mind having the fireman parked in front of the house all day....

You just need a fireman's hat, Gunther!! Nice perch - I'd sit there too if I had that view (that is if I could ever take my eyes off Stella...)

ditto! I didn't realize you were so close to the beach. How lovely!

I think you're being hit by the same system as us. Yuk! Although I think you catch a bit more rain than we do but seriously! Is this wild or what?

Hi Gunther! You're just earning your keep! It's your job to make sure everyone is safe and that everything runs smoothly. I think extra treats are in order for doing such a fine job.

You have a most excellent view from your house. You are one lucky puggie!

Gunther, I think your story of rescue should make the evening news. Way to save many lives. I wish you lived in my hood. I'd sleep better at night.

Good to know you were
"on top" of the situation and the chair!

We never take for granted how lucky we are to live here, I promise. Pretty much anywhere you live in Morro Bay, you'll have a view because the hills gently rise up above the water.

When we first moved into our house, Gunther would spend HOURS watching the sail boats drift by. They totally fascinated him. Now he just watches people and their dogs walk by. Some people we don't even know walk by and give a shout out to Gunther because he's always in the window.

I'm baaack, because I was provoked! Dear Stella, I took your comment to heart. I googled you and I can be there in 3 hours and 48 minutes. I'm in the process of packing. I hope you were serious about your invitation. Give Gunther the good news, if he hasn't left his post yet.
