Holla, Betty is in the house!

Finally, after months of waiting Ms. Betty is finally home with us! She used to be called Roxy when she was living with her super wonderful FBRN foster mom & dad.

Beth & Barry, foster parents extraordinaire.

But we have a neighbor who has a weenie named Roxy and our good friend Chuck has a weenie named Roxy...get yer minds out of the gutter people! I'm talkin about Dachshunds. After a few days of getting to know her, we thought the name Betty fitted her perfectly.

Friday night, I took a redeye from Los Angeles to Columbus, OH to pick up our baby girl. I arrived in Ohio at 10:00 a.m. then Beth & Barry met me in the baggage claim area since it was strangely very quiet there. It was love at first sight when I saw Betty come walkin off the elevator. After going over all her vet records, and spending some time getting to know Beth & Barry, it was time for us to get ready to get back on a plane and head West. After getting our boarding pass and going through security, we had a couple hours to spare before our flight took off.  So we hung out,

until Betty started rippin some gnarly farts. Ruh roh! She had just pooped when Beth & Barry brought her to the airport! I started walking her towards the bathroom, but I was too late. She dropped a very SOFT load next to the ticketing counter in at an empty gate. You know when you try to pick up a squishy poo pile it kinda smears a little?  In the grass, not such a big deal. On carpet in the middle of the airport... not so good.  Thankfully, we were just 15 minutes until boarding our plane. Quick! Get us outta here!!

Because of the nasty weather and such, we finally made it home around midnight on Saturday. Betty was such a trooper and great traveling partner. She really really didn't like flying, so we'll never subject her to another plane ride.

She loved meeting Stella & Gunter and visa-versa. They were so happy, I was worried I'd never get any sleep! But sleep prevailed and we all were able to get some much needed shut eye.

First on our agenda, introductions at the vet. You can tell they really didn't like her much.

Casey, not so scary vet tech.

Kisses from Casey,  free of charge.

Dr. Stephens, meet Betty. Betty, meet Dr. Stephens...

Betty in the VERY capable arms of the most wonderful vet in the world!

After winning over everyone at the vet, we headed over to the hardware store to purchase a Frenchie & Puggie proof trashcan. This little Frenchie is OBSESSED with food.

I think we might need a second cart.

Whew, after a full morning Betty was a tired out Frenchie.

Check out those ears! We're getting rid of our satellite dish for the T.V. Betty's ears are great transmitters.

It's only been a few days, but we're already totally in love with our girl Betty. Stella and Gunther are being pretty good housemates so far. Gunther is being a bit snarky when it comes to his toys and 'me' time with mom & dad, but we can tell in just a little time he'll come around to Ms. Betty's charm.

Gunther: "Maybe if I turn my back she'll go away.

Stella, Gunther and Betty's mom,
Shannon
